Tutoring and Testing

Welcome to the Academic Learning Program for Higher Achievement Center at Northwestern College. The ALPHA Center supports the Northwestern College community through a variety of student services:

  • Writing tutoring
  • Subject tutoring in areas including (but not limited to) the following: math, Spanish, Greek, science, psychology, and accounting
  • Test facilitation for make-up examinations
  • Academic accommodations referred by the Disabilities Office for Support Service (DOSS)
  • Computer-based tutorials

Hours

Writing Tutoring
Monday/Wednesday: 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
Tuesday/Thursday: 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m.
Friday: 9:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Summer and holiday hours vary, please call ahead.

Testing
Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
The ALPHA Center is closed from 10:15 to 11:00 a.m. for chapel.

Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Friday, 8 a.m.–12 p.m.
