Pastoral Ministry (Dual B.A./M.Div.)
Dual B.A./M.Div. Degree in Pastoral Ministry
The Dual B.A./M.Div. Degree in Pastoral Ministry is a streamlined program for highly motivated students who feel called to pastoral ministry. Graduates will receive a bachelor’s degree after four years and a Master of Divinity after the fifth year. Most M.Div. programs require three years in addition to four years of undergraduate study, so this unique dual degree program will save both time and money.
Rigorous, Integrated, Effective
Courses are taught by qualified instructors with extensive pastoral experience. Students who go through this program will be prepared to serve in general pastoral ministry or as a future member of a church planting team, ready to hit the ground running in your ministry career. Graduates will understand and experience the basic roles of a pastor/shepherd such as preaching, teaching, leading, pastoral care and church planting. An integrated internship component will connect students with local pastors who will mentor them throughout the program.
Students are admitted to the dual degree program via a separate application process they may pursue once they’ve been admitted to Northwestern College.
Program Structure
The first four years of the program are offered in a traditional day-school format; the fifth year of the program is taught in an accelerated format (evenings) through our Center for Graduate Studies.
Because of the rigorous and accelerated nature of this program the course of study for the dual degree program includes all courses required to graduate, not just the degree-specific courses. The degree is granted upon completion of 176 credits as specified in the catalog.
