Financial Aid100% of Northwestern traditional undergraduate students receive some type of financial aid. Typical financial aid package for new freshmen: FAFSAFAFSA code: 002371 The earliest a student may apply for financial aid is January of the year that the student begins college. Because the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) asks for information from the prior year's IRS form 1040, we strongly recommend the completion of the 1040 before filling out the FAFSA form.
