Denler Gallery presents Artist Lecture: Lenneke Wispelwey

Denler Gallery is proud to host a lecture by Dutch artist Lenneke Wispelwey on:

Tuesday, March 13 at 4:30 p.m.
Denler Gallery, Totino Fine Arts Center

Wispelwey founded her ceramics design studio in 2008 in Arnhem, the Netherlands. Her low-tech design methods result in pastel-colored, porcelain objects with geometric patterns. She finds a simple approach to techniques and materials very important to communicating her vision.

Her work is known for the use of different shades of one color and for playing with the contrast between bisqued and glazed porcelain. Wispelwey creates honest and harmonious designs, inspired by her memories and antiques and her designs have been shown throughout the Netherlands and featured in numerous Dutch design publications.

The event is free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Map and directions are available online. Learn more about the Denler Gallery and the Department of Art & Design at Northwestern.

Wispelwey's work will also be on display at the Northern Clay Center's new exhibit Functional Redesign starting March 9. Learn more at www.northernclaycenter.org.
