Fulbright Scholar: Mr. Le Huy Hoang, Scholar-In-Residence

NWC is committed to bringing the world to northwest Wyoming and we eagerly pursue exchange opportunities!  Fulbright scholars have added to the dynamics of our area. We are happy to welcome them and learn of their cultures and homelands.

The Fulbright Scholar-In-Residence grant provided funding to bring Vietnamese Scholar, Mr. Le Huy Hoang, to Northwest College for the entire Spring 2008 semester in order to teach, to provide a wide variety of on-campus and community outreach presentations that promote cultural diversity, and to collaborate on future exchange opportunities between Northwest College and Vietnamese institutions.

Mr. Hoang resided in Tra Vinh Town, Tra Vinh province, a primarily agricultural region located approximately 124 miles from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city.

He was dean of economics and head of international collaboration at Tra Vinh University, a community college, as well as the executive secretary of the Vietnam Association of Community Colleges.
