NWC Volleyball Falls To No. 3 With Loss
Having reached the top of the standings in the NJCAA Region IX North, the Northwest College volleyball team dropped back to No. 3 after losing to Casper College on Friday in five sets. The Lady Trappers rebounded to beat Sheridan in five sets and Miles City, Montana, in three sets.

Going into the 87th minute, the Northwest College men’s soccer team was in control against Western Wyoming Community College, holding a 2-1 lead as the final game of the regular season wound down in Rock Springs last week.

As a difficult rebuilding season came to an end, the Northwest College women’s soccer team hoped to finally get in the win column at Western Wyoming Community College — a team they had taken into overtime earlier in the season.

'Wyoming Spirit' A Force To Reckon With
While youth programs continue to grow and thrive in urban areas, in a rural state like this one, soccer is still perceived as a niche sport; few participants continue past the level of juice boxes and participation trophies, lured away by other athletic pursuits and extracurricular activities. So for the Northwest College men’s team to have nine Wyoming-raised players on its current roster is a testament to the love they have for the game.
