GST1015 Basic Computer Applications – 1 cr
ONLINE LEARNING GROUP

(PQ: Keyboarding rate of at least 20 wpm or consent of instructor)
Introduces students to basic computer applications of word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, and electronic mail. Software specific to the course includes Microsoft Office applications. Skills gained in the course will provide a foundation for using technology in other Northwestern courses.

PLA1019 Prior Learning Assessment – 2 cr
ONLINE LEARNING GROUP

(PQ: ENG1109)
This course is designed to help students assess their experiential learning background and petition for credit for prior learning. Theories of experiential learning and learning styles will be explored and applied to personal, work, and educational settings. In particular, David Kolb’s model of experiential learning will provide the framework for students to analyze, reflect on, and narrate their learning experiences. Students will prepare a PLA portfolio that demonstrates their knowledge, skills, and experience commensurate with college-level learning.
