Disabilities Office for Support Services (DOSS)
• Culture and Language Transition Program (CLT)
• Campus-Wide Committee (CWC)
• Support Services Team (SST)

DOSS OVERVIEW
Disabilities Office for Support Services (DOSS)
Our purpose is to offer students with unique challenges the support needed to experience full access to the Northwestern College community under the guidelines of “reasonable accommodations,” as outlined by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Section 504) and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
Services include but are not limited to:
• Peer tutoring
• Alternative testing conditions
• Campus accessibility support
• Study skills strategies
• Individualized accommodations

CLT OVERVIEW
Culture, Language and Transition Program (CLT)
This is an academic support program for students from diverse cultural and language backgrounds. The CLT program exists to enhance the academic experience of these Northwestern College (NWC) students by:
• Closing gaps in educational development.
• Providing a series of services, as faculty and staff collaborate to provide assistance.
• Mentoring students through the cultural transition into NWC.
• Accelerating and practicing written and conversational English.
• Supporting students in new relationships across campus.

CWC OVERVIEW
Campus-Wide Committee (CWC)
In the belief that diversity strengthens the educational community, Northwestern College (NWC) strives to be in full compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. The purpose of CWC is to:
• Oversee all ADA requests and give approval for implementation of services, support, interventions, and modifications.
• Coordinate with programs across campus to ensure a unified and streamlined process.
• Sanction approved protocols for assessing needs.
• Handle conflicts related to ADA policies and procedures.
• Implement final approval for services related to ADA/504 and/or special needs.

SST OVERVIEW
Support Services Team (SST)
The purpose of SST is to:
• Review DOSS requests.
• Render academic accommodation decisions.
• Support academic intervention services for students with special needs.
• Consult with the CAPSS director.
• Sit as the first level of inquiry for minor concerns.
• Provide input to the assistant director of DOSS/CLT in the absence of the CAPSS Director.
