Marlis Fenton (Staff Accompanist)
NWC

Marlis has served as a part-time accompanist at NWC since 2001 and recently added the role of handbell director to her Northwestern resume. A Northwestern alumnus, Marlis graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Piano Performance in 1990. Since graduation, Marlis has continued accompanying in a variety of venues: for cellist Kari Docter in 1992’s WAMSO finals, in various musical productions for local schools, and for professional and collegiate soloists and ensembles, including Cantati Evangelica, now performing under the name Twin Cities Masters Chorale. She began directing handbells at her church, Roseville Covenant, in 2004 and helped revive their dwindling program. Marlis presented a Faculty Artist Series recital at Northwestern in January 2005, performing one of only two Tchaikovsky piano sonatas ever written and the Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano by Claude Bolling.
