Do you have a passion for art? Are you interested in pursuing a career in art, graphic design, visual arts education or digital media arts? If so, Northwestern College may be the perfect place for you. Join us on Thursday, March 18 at 3 p.m. for Major Discovery: Art & Graphic Design, an informative open house and hands-on afternoon of viewing and making art. Major Discovery is a unique opportunity for you to meet faculty and current students and learn how Northwestern College can equip you for a rewarding academic and professional career. We will enjoy a light meal at 3 p.m., as well as hors d’ouvres at 6:00 as we take part in an opening reception and awards ceremony for the 16th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibit, which is opening in the school’s Denler Gallery that evening.
At this Major Discovery event, you will:
- Meet Northwestern College Art & Graphic Design professors
- Interact with current students
- View artwork that current Northwestern College students have made
- Find out how Northwestern integrates a Christ-centered, biblical worldview within the fields of Art & Graphic Design
- Take part in art-making seminars, such as getting hands-on experience in making a ceramic sculpture, screen-printing a t-shirt, learning digital art making software, and more
- Enjoy complimentary food and beverages
- Attend an opening reception, view the artwork on display, and take part in an awards ceremony

We invite you to join us for dinner in the Blue Room. During the dinner Dr. Michael Wise will speak about the Dead Sea Scrolls, which contain the earliest known copies of the Old Testament scriptures, and many previously unknown writings from the Judaism of Jesus’ day! In 1996 Michael Wise, Martin Abegg, and Edward Cook published the most complete translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls ever written (2nd edition, 2005). Because of his expertise on the Scrolls, Dr. Wise was contacted by the Science Museum of Minnesota to help create the new exhibit mentioned above.
At this Major Discovery event, you will:
- Enjoy a meal with Biblical & Theological Studies faculty, students, and alumni
- Learn about enhancing your Biblical Studies degree with a minor in Ancient & Classical Languages or in History
- Hear firsthand about the Dead Sea Scrolls from an internationally recognized expert on the Scrolls who has helped to piece the texts together and publish them
- Explore "The Dead Sea Scrolls: Words that Changed the World," an exhibit at the Science Museum of Minnesota, with students and faculty in the Biblical & Theological Studies and History departments *Field Trip FULL*

Do you love speaking español? Are you fascinated by learning new languages and getting to know other cultures? Have you ever wanted to study abroad? If so, Northwestern College may be the perfect place for you!
The Department of World Languages offers a variety of language courses (including Chinese!), two majors (ESL Education & Spanish), and two minors (Spanish & TESOL). An integral part of our Spanish program is a semester of study abroad in beautiful Seville, Spain. Join us at 6pm on Thursday, April 15 for Major Discovery: World Languages.
At this Major Discovery event, you will:
- Meet Northwestern College professors in the Department of World Languages
- Interact with current students and graduates
- Hear about our active, student-led Spanish club and its activities
- Ask questions about the Semester in Spain Program

We will enjoy a pizza dinner and attend Northwestern’s annual Five16 Film Festival.
At this Major Discovery event, you will:
- Meet Northwestern College film professors
- Interact with current students majoring in Electronic Media Communication
- Learn about the filmmaking process from students featured in the festival
