Why do you like Northwestern?
I was homeschooled all my life and I love the community here at Northwestern. The people here are amazing and they’re definitely my favorite part of college. I always tell people that I learn just as much from the people around me here at Northwestern as I do in my classes.
How has your relationship with the Lord changed since you’ve been here?
Being around so many like-minded Christian young people is really great because it gives you a chance to talk about your faith with your peers and really helps to strengthen what you believe. Being at Northwestern has really helped develop my relationship with the Lord because I’ve been learning how to live my faith day by day.
NWC missions/service experience?
My favorite NWC service experience was working at Feed My Starving Children with the entire Symphonic Band. We had a great time fellowshipping while we packaged food for people in need. We even had a competition to see which team could fill the most boxes.
College involvements?
I’m currently involved in Theatre and I sing in the College Choir. But in the past I sang tenor in Varsity Men’s Chorus, played clarinet in the Symphonic Band, was the public relations director for Student Government, and was in Speech Club.
Favorite class?
Any of my theatre classes because they’re always challenging and in them I learn how to use my voice and body to glorify God in a unique way.
Special Northwestern moment?
Christmas at Northwestern. It is such an amazing experience to be one of several hundred student musicians all using their talent to worship God and minister to their audience.
Favorite Twin Cities location outside NWC?
The Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis. One of the most beautiful theatres I’ve ever seen, with some of the best productions I’ve ever seen.
Favorite roommate story?
That would definitely be making dinner for my roommates and then afterwards playing the board games Risk and Settlers of Catan.
Plans after graduation?
Northwestern has prepared me to be able to work as a professional and at the same time to be a light for Christ. I want to help create quality films from a Christian Worldview. Not “Christian Films” per se, but good films that show forth Christian values. I would like to do this through both acting and directing, as I’m interested in most every part of filmmaking.
