Efficiency through Innovation training scheduled Tuesday, March 24, in Powell

POWELL, Wyoming — Bruce Brown, a financial consultant with Manufacturing-Works, will show businesses how to improve “Efficiency through Innovation” in an all-day workshop Tuesday, March 24, at the Northwest College Center for Training and Development in Powell.

Brown will discuss ways to develop a culture of open innovation that can help businesses run more efficiently; increase production flow; reduce waste, downtime and inventory costs; and generate ideas for products, services and processes. The information presented has application at all levels — from the manufacturing floor to the office.

Students will learn to implement tools created by the Lean Enterprise Institute, including Standardized Work, 55 System, Value-Stream Mapping, Visual Controls and others.

Hands-on simulations and exercises are used to help participants develop a visual and physical understanding of the importance of innovation in a business.

The training runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and offers 0.7 continuing education units.

Advance registration is required by noon Friday, March 20. Cost is $50 (NWC students pay $25).
