POWELL, Wyo. - The Tuesday and Thursday, Dec. 15 and 17, lunch series in Cody and Powell features retired Microsoft executive Rick LaPlante, who will discuss the decision process that should take place before a business considers adding a Web site to its marketing plan.

LaPlante advises any business that's thinking about a Web site to first start with a clear idea of what business goals a Web site would help achieve. He'll discuss the common business reasons behind creating a Web site, such as creating awareness, direct sales, establishing credibility and creating community or revenue through Web advertising clicks.

He'll also showcase a few sites and technologies that can increase the likelihood of creating a Web site that achieves the goals of the business. The discussion will be at a business-decision level, not a technical one, so no technical knowledge is necessary to keep up.

The one-hour program gets underway in both communities at noon, with networking opportunities starting at 11:45 a.m. The Cody session meets Tuesday, Dec. 15, in Room 2206 of the NWC Cody Center, located in the Park County Complex. In Powell, the group convenes Thursday, Dec. 17, in the Center for Training and Development on the Northwest College West Campus.

Cost is $5 per person, which includes both the program and a lunch. Seats must be reserved at least one day prior to the event.

Reservations are accepted for the Cody program by e-mail or by calling (307) 587-3506. Reserve a spot in Powell by e-mail or call (307) 754-6062.
