POWELL, Wyo. - The Wild West Players, the community theatre group at Northwest College, will hold auditions Tuesdays and Wednesday, Feb. 11, 18 and 19 for several spring performances.

Aspiring actors, comedians, costume designers, makeup artists and set designers are all invited to attend the 6:30 p.m. sessions to audition and learn more about the various stage projects in the works. All auditions are held on the stage in the Nelson Performing Arts Center at Northwest College in Powell.

One of the projects this spring is a fairytale-like theatre production staged April 21-26 for children. Elementary schoolers from across the basin will be bussed to the Northwest College campus to attend the Hansel and Gretel-like play.

Players will also be selected for the Improv Workshop. The goal for this year’s improv project is to participate in a national competition, in addition to local performances in May.

The Wild West Players want to explore another new option this year — staged readings of original works — and will hold auditions for these as well.

“If you’re interested in the theatre in any way, and especially if children’s theatre, improv or experimental theater appeals to you, join us this spring,” Fred Ebert, the Wild West Players director, said.
