POWELL, Wyo. - The Yellowstone Big Band, perennial favorites at the Yellowstone Jazz Festival, will perform Friday, July 12, in Powell. Featuring 17 professional jazz players and regional musicians, the Yellowstone Big Band will highlight the 3-6:30 p.m. Yellowstone Jazz Camp Concert at Washington Park.

Big Horn Basin jazz lovers are invited to bring their lawn chairs to indulge both their musical and gastronomical appetites during the free concert — local vendors will be on hand selling food and drinks while the music is playing.

The concert wraps up the 26th annual Yellowstone Jazz Camp, held July 7-12 at Northwest College’s Mickelson Field Station. Founded by newly-retired NWC band director Neil Hansen, the jazz camp brings together some of the nation’s most prominent jazz players and educators to tutor 40 high school and college students from across the Northwest.
