Envision Excellence —
A Capital Campaign for Student Spiritual Life
Billy Graham Community Life Commons
The cornerstone achievement of the Envision Excellence campaign is the construction of the Billy Graham Community Life Commons. The groundbreaking for this new centerpiece of campus life was in October 2009, with anticipated completion in May 2011. See the building under construction!
The success of this campaign represents our continuing commitment to invest in our students’ lives and our campus by providing a solid foundation of financial resources—making a quality Christ-centered education possible for all Northwestern students.
The innovative Billy Graham Community Life Commons, named in honor of the Reverend Billy Graham, Northwestern College's second president, will build and strengthen our campus and offer an inviting place to gather as family, growing together in faith. This building will serve as the hub for students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests to come together as one community. Facilities for dining, study, student organizations, prayer, and fellowship will all be included.
A PLACE TO FEED THE BODY. . . EXPANDED MODERN DINING FACILITIES
The spacious dining area in the Billy Graham Community Life Commons will create an inviting place for students, faculty and staff to enjoy meals and engaging conversation.
A PLACE TO FEED THE MIND. . . EXPANDED ACADEMIC SPACE, BOOKSTORE AND MAIL CENTER
The Billy Graham Community Life Commons will also include a new campus store and mail center, providing much-needed space for student services. Classrooms in the building will accommodate our growing student body in academic spaces that feature state-of-the-art technology.
A PLACE TO FEED THE SOUL AND SPIRIT. . . COMMUNITY AND SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENT
Northwestern College believes quality education includes opportunities for students to pursue leadership and spiritual development. The Billy Graham Community Life Commons offers an appealing environment for student/faculty meetings, clubs, worship, prayer and Bible study—the perfect place to nurture faith, foster a deep sense of community and build lifelong friendships. The Student Development and Student Services offices and Campus Ministries department will both be housed in the Billy Graham Community Life Commons.
