Sandra Baty

Director, Child Development Center


Sandra Baty graduated from Bethel Sandra HoferUniversity with a B.A. in elementary education and a minor in early childhood education. She went on to Concordia University and earned her M.A. in education specializing in early childhood education. Baty received her director’s credentials through NAEYC.

Prior to working at Northwestern, Baty worked for one year as a lead toddler teacher in another center. She has been with the Child Development Center since it opened in 1994. Baty started as the lead toddler teacher and then moved into the role of assistant director. She most recently became Director of Northwestern College Child Development Center. Baty has more than 15 years of experience working with young children and supervising college students. At Northwestern College she taught Infant and toddler development and observation during the first year of the early childhood program. She has been a guest speaker in other early childhood classes and presented at a local early childhood conference on intergenerational programming.

Baty is a member of several professional organizations including the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), National Coalition of Campus Children’s Centers (NCCCC), and the Minnesota Chapter of NCCCC. She assisted the Board of Teaching to review a new early childhood program in a Minnesota University.
