Billy Graham Community Life Commons featured on CTV
June 7—Associate Professor of Communication T. Robin Riley, M.Div, Ph.D., recently put together a video package for local CTV news program, "North Suburban Beat” that will highlight Northwestern’s new Billy Graham Community Life Commons (BGCLC).
The story celebrates the completion of the new BGCLC and will air on Wednesday, June 8 at 5 p.m. on cable channel 15 (in Roseville and surrounding cable area). The program will repeat over the next week.
The package provides context around the BGCLC building including brief history and explanation of why the need for a new space was so great.
“Over the years we had taken up every bit of community space for other purposes,” said Amy Carey, Vice President for Institutional Advancement. “So we had very few spaces for students to gather.”
Northwestern staff has begun moving into the new space and it will be open for student use beginning fall 2011; however the official dedication celebration will be held over Homecoming weekend in October
“It’s really a proud moment,” said Brian Humphries, Associate Vice President of Facility Operations and Planning. “Any time you accomplish a project of this size, I look back on it and think ‘that was really a success.’”
