Each year, one staff member and three faculty members receive special recognition for their contributions to the Northwestern community.
Print Shop Supervisor Gene VanVeldhuizen received the Quality Service Award. He was recognized at the annual employee Christmas party/recognition celebration for exceptional contributions and service to Northwestern. VanVeldhuizen has worked at Northwestern for 23 years.
Yvonne RB-Banks, Ph.D., professor of education and director of the Center of Academic Programs for Support Services, received the Faculty Outstanding Service Award. This award recognizes faculty who have demonstrated service to the college, profession, community and church.
The Faculty Excellence in Scholarship Award was given to Paul Chara, Ph.D., professor of psychology. This award recognizes scholarly contributions to the faculty’s academic field.
Mark Muska, Ed.D., associate professor of Biblical & Theological Studies, was awarded for Excellence in Teaching. This award recognizes professors that have exhibited quality instruction, enthusiasm for teaching, availability to students and the ability to relate their faith to their academic discipline.
