August 24—The 98.5 KTIS outreach program "PrayerWorks” was created with a simple idea: Use radio reach to connect listeners that have prayer concerns with listeners willing to pray. The initiative recently crossed the 500,000 mark of prayers prayed for each other—in one month alone, KTIS listeners prayed over 50,000 prayers for each other!

Through PrayerWorks, individuals receive notification every time someone has prayed for them and, in many cases, the notification is accompanied by a note of encouragement.

PrayerWorks by the numbers

• 32,354 prayer requests posted
• 890 stories shared
• 14,496 notes of encouragement sent
• 532,866 prayers prayed

Last year KTIS made the decision to share the PrayerWorks tool with radio colleagues across the country, as well as other ministry groups and churches. To date, there are close to 70 organizations around the country using PrayerWorks with their listeners or members.

In addition, KTIS created a mobile version/application for PrayerWorks. The mobile version and iPhone app are currently available for all Northwestern Media stations, and will be made available to affiliates in the following months.
