About the Event
Michael O. Wise, Ph.D., Northwestern College professor of Hebrew Bible and ancient languages and chair of the Department of Biblical & Theological Studies, has served as an expert advisor on the Science Museum of Minnesota’s exhibition, "The Dead Sea Scrolls: Words that Changed the World" (which opened March 12 in St. Paul), the largest and most expensive exhibit storyline ever presented by the museum. It is an especially significant event because the Israel Antiquities Authority allows only one exhibit of the Dead Sea Scrolls to be on display in the world at any one time. Dr. Wise’s considerable expertise heavily influenced the creating of the supporting exhibit materials surrounding the scrolls, the result of which is a truly one-of-a-kind experience.
Dr. Wise has written seven books and more than 100 scholarly articles and book reviews on the scrolls, and he frequently lectures on the Dead Sea Scrolls in various venues across the country. Though his knowledge has an impact globally, he focuses a majority of his time on teaching and mentoring students at Northwestern College while engaging in active study and research.
Special Exhibit Voucher: Each attendee of this event will receive a special offer voucher valid for discounted admission to the exhibit “The Dead Sea Scrolls: Words that Changed the World” at the Science Museum of Minnesota.
