Nov. 3—Two Northwestern College graduates were winning candidates in the Nov. 2 general election. Matt Bostrom ‘92, Ramsey County Sheriff Bostrom has 28 years of law enforcement experience at the Saint Paul Police Department with service as Police Officer, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander, Senior Commander, Chief of Staff, and Assistant Chief of Operations, Division of Homeland Security and Support Services. He received his Bachelor of Science at Northwestern. Bostrom is an adjunct professor at Northwestern as well as Saint Mary’s University and Hamline University. Bostrom earned his Master of Education and Saint Paul Public School Teaching License at the University of St. Thomas and his Doctor of Public Administration degree at Hamline University. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy and a certified State of Minnesota Emergency Manager. Bostrom was featured in the Nov. 3 issue of the Star Tribune and also in the Nov. 4 issue of the Pioneer Press. John Pederson ‘90, Minnesota Senate District 15 Pederson has been involved in the District 15 community since 1990 (St. Cloud, St. Augusta, Waite Park and Rockville). He is involved in the St. Cloud City Council, Zoning Board of Appeals, Planning Commission and St. Cloud Housing and Redevelopment Authority. He is vice president of Amcon Block & Precast Inc. and volunteers with Whitney Senior Center in St. Cloud. Pederson earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Biblical Studies at Northwestern. He then went on to Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee where he received his Masters Degree in Business Administration. In addition, he teaches as a part-time instructor at Dale Carnegie and St. Cloud Technical College and is an adjunct instructor at Rasmussen College.
