Guest Artist Recital

Our guest artist Timothy A. Schmidt, D.M.A., is a prolific recitalist who has performed concerts in three continents; and as a recipient of numerous awards and honors, he has performed with a number of orchestras, including The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. Dr. Schmidt is Professor Emeritus of Music at Waldorf College, Iowa, where he was Professor of Music and Piano for over 33 years. He will perform Beethoven’s Sonata in C# Minor, Op. 27, No. 2 (“Moonlight”), Pinkham’s Troika Ride, and Liszt’s Sonata in B Minor. This first recital in our beautiful, newly renovated Nazareth Chapel is free and open to the public.

Department of Music faculty artists present biblically inspired works by classical composers of several eras, featuring music of Britten, Handel, Meier, Messiaen, Moore, Murray, and Sateren – and a brand new arrangement from our own Phil Norris. Faculty performing in our beautiful, newly renovated Nazareth Chapel include Joel Alexander, John Benham, Carol Eikum, Mary Kay Geston, Sonja Grimes, John S. Herlihy, Doreen Hutchings, Sachiya Isomura, Melody Johnson, Cheryl Kelley, Jeremy Kolwinska, David Kozamchak, Catherine McCord Larsen, Glen Larson, Phil Norris, Carl Osterhouse, Kathleen Robinson, Barbara Rogers, Timothy Sawyer, Jan Possehl Scholl, Janet Scovill, and Catherine Victorsen.
