Mission Statement
"Choral Music Direct from the Heart"
Our Foundation: Jesus Christ
- Faith – Believing in things not yet seen (Hebrews 11:1)
- Hope – Which does not disappoint us (Romans 5:5)
- Love – Which never fails (I Corinthians 13:8)
- Truth – Which will set us free (John 8:32)
- Humility – We are not our own creation; (Ps. 100:3);the Lord will lift us up (James 4:10)
- Gratitude – We sing with grateful hearts (Colossians 3:17)
We believe that music-making is an act of relational stewardship:
…To God
Therefore I will praise you, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing praises to your name. (II Samuel 22:50)
…To one another
Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 5:19-20)
…To music and music-making itself – an inside-out/outside-in process
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.
(Galatians 5:22-26)
…To our audience
Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD…(Psalm 102:18)
…Building the Kingdom of God
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added unto you. (Matthew 6:33)
We desire to always be the best we can be in a collective effort, to be passionate about music and to have experiential knowledge of its meaning, together with an emphasis on what makes music truthful and beautiful to the glory of God.
Our choral program desires for each singer to:
- Know that God has put eternity in the hearts of humankind (Eccl. 3:11)
- Have spiritual vision from the Lord; to be faithful to that vision (Acts 26:19)
- Know there will be resistance to this vision (II Cor. 10:4; James 4:7)
- Wear the full armor of God as a soldier of Christ (Ephesians 6:11)
- Live in the victory that Christ provides (I Cor. 15:57)
As a Choir family, we are called to be united in love, encouraged in heart and living by the power of the Holy Spirit. We want to grow together, pray together and become unified in song together, ultimately impacting our community and the world. (Colossians 2:2, Philippians 4:4)
Soli Deo Gloria (To the Glory of God Alone)
