Northwestern College Scholarships As a Christian college, Northwestern provides a number of scholarships for new and continuing students to reward your academic achievements and Christian leadership committment. Please select the scholarships that apply to you for more details. Scholarships for First-time FreshmenFreshmen scholarships are based on the student's unweighted high school GPA and scores received on the ACT or SAT. These are renewable annually while attending Northwestern provided the student maintains the following academic standards: - Presidential and Deans Scholarships - maintain a cumulative college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Faculty Scholarship - maintain a cumulative college GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Founders Scholarship - maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress whereby a cumulative college GPA of 2.0 or higher is achieved mid-way through the program of study and/or have completed at least 2/3 of coursework attempted.
Eagle Scholars Honors Scholarshipup to $17,000, annual, renewable Northwestern's honors program is designed to challenge high-ability students to greater academic achievement. New students admitted to Northwestern with top credentials will be invited to apply to this program prior to January 1 the year before entering at Northwestern. The scholarship is renewable annually with successful involvement in the program, including a cumulative college GPA of 3.65 or higher. If you are selected for this prestigious program, we will ask that you decline other Northwestern scholarships and discounts. You may still be eligible for music and/or theatre scholarships and need-based aid. Leadership Award$2,000 annual, renewable Approximately 40 of these competitive four-year awards are presented each year to new students who demonstrate leadership potential as indicated through the admission application and references. Candidates must commit to full participation in Northwestern’s Leadership Development Program to receive this award. Music Scholarship$500–$4,000 Average for music majors: $2,500/year Average for non-music majors: $1,000/year Music scholarships are available to music majors and non-music majors, to both new and continuing students. Transfer Student ScholarshipsTransfer ScholarshipTransfer students who have completed 12 or more post-high school college credits and have a minimum college GPA of 2.75 (see chart below) are eligible for a Transfer Scholarship.

Academic Tuition Benefit for 2012-13Awards are given to continuing students in their junior or senior year who are not eligible to receive the newly instated renewable academic scholarships listed above. Eligible students will have completed at least one full-time semester at Northwestern. Endowed Scholarships for Continuing Students$500 and up Students who have attended at least one semester at Northwestern and have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher will be considered. Students fill out an online scholarship application to apply for these awards. Awards are announced in April and are made the following fall and spring semesters. You must apply for these scholarships each year. |

Note for International Students Most international students are not eligible to receive state or federal assistance. However, you can fill out the International Student Financial Assistance Application on the Forms page to pursue eligibility for various forms of Northwestern aid based on previous academic achievements. The application deadline is June 1. International students may also qualify for up to 20 hours of work on campus per week. |
