The Northwest College women trounced Trinidad State of Colorado 79-58 on Thursday afternoon to advance to the semifinals of the Region IX championships at Casper College.
Forward Kira Marlow led the Lady Trappers with 17 points and six assists. Center Julynne da Silva Sa added 14 points. Charri McArthur contributed 10 points and the Trappers shot 49.2 percent from the field.
Northwest, 25-7, takes on Western Nebraska, 28-3, at 5 p.m. Friday for the right to advance to the championship game Saturday afternoon.
Western eliminated Sheridan 80-62. The winner of the regional title competes in the National Junior College Athletic Association championships in Lubbock, Texas.
