Previously, I taught and administrated in K–12 school settings. I love education and the students. Before I came to NWC, my background was in youth ministry, special education, and student development in higher education. Lindsey YoungProgram Manager, ALPHA Center E-mail: lmyoung@nwc.edu Prior to joining the ALPHA Center in April 2011, I attended Northwestern as a student myself. English, Literature and grammar have always been favorite study topics of mine, and I graduated in May 2010 with a B.A. in English/Writing. I have extensive editing experience and have also worked on several journalism freelance projects in addition to my work at Northwestern. God has called me to my position in the ALPHA Center, and I love seeing students succeed. John DayProgram Manager, CAPSS E-mail: jnday@nwc.edu My role here at Northwestern is to develop and maintain the Passport to Success Program, which supports students as they work to meet their academic goals and transition to college. Before working in higher education, I served as a teacher of English as a Second Language. I also have experience in the international business realm, using my undergraduate degree in Business: Marketing. I appreciate the opportunity to build relationships with students and watch them grow academically. Laura HaugerudCAPSS Office Coordinator E-mail: lfhaugerud@nwc.edu My role here at Northwestern is to coordinator the CAPSS office, from department projects to setting calendar appointments to behind-the-scenes work. I also work with the intake of students who are seeking academic support through any of the CAPSS programs. Before working in higher education, I served in student ministries and human resources. My education background includes an undergraduate degree in Business: Human Resources and Management, as well as a graduate degree in Christian Education. I love serving administratively and seeing people flourish. |
