Annual Report

As nearly 350 students completed their degrees and certificates in May to graduate, I neared completion of my first year as Northwest College president. NWC’s 2014 graduates will always hold a special place in my heart. Students, faculty and staff—as well as trustees, volunteers, legislators, donors, alumni and area residents—all contributed to a wonderful first year of my Northwest College presidency.

This 2013-14 Annual Report highlights NWC's progress and the many accomplishments toward the goals outlined in our 2012-13 to 2016-17 Strategic Plan.

To the casual observer, construction of the Yellowstone Building might look like one of our biggest triumphs, but our students will tell you other big things also happened this year.

  • A new Academic and Career Advising Center was launched to help students chart their paths during and after their days on campus.
  • Freshman Seminar classes were offered for the first time, assisting students adjust to college and find their academic focus earlier.
  • A new Summer Math Bridge Program was created to help college-bound high school students prepare for college mathematics.

Nowhere are Northwest’s accomplishments more vivid than in those of our students’ successes. Visible in every academic discipline, co-curricular activity and intercollegiate athletic team, student achievements enriched the fabric of our lives every day this year.

I hope you’ll explore this Annual Report’s many examples of how Northwest College is living up to its Vision and Mission statements. What an outstanding year!

Sincerely,
Stefani Hicswa
