Have you ever considered service in the United States Peace Corps?
Have you wondered what life is like in a remote West African village?
If you answered yes to either of those questions, then you are invited to join Max Miller for an informal presentation on Peace Corps Service and the West African country of Burkina Faso.
Between June 2012 and July 2014, Max served as a teacher in a small Dugarra village in the southwest corner of Burkina Faso.
Village life revolved around which community was hosting the day's market, which rotated on a 5-day schedule and what crops were being planted or harvested.
Family and communal ties are incredibly strong in this corner of West Africa, and people help and care for each other in the face of non-existent or limited access to clean water, electricity and other amenities many Americans take for granted.
There is no charge for this presentation, but Bissap juice - a Hibiscus-based drink - will be served. So, please pre-register so we have a good idea of how many attendees to expect! See you there!
