This is a great ride for the novice mountain biker. The trailehead is located at the Elk Fork Campground approximately 24 miles west of Cody on your way to Yellowstone. The trail goes for abotu 5 miles until you reach the Wilderness Boundry (which you cannot ride your bike into). The trail ascends the valley for the ride in and crosses a few small streams and the main river once. The ride out is a refresher downhill cruise through the alpine meadows and makes the ride up more then worth it. The trail varies from single to triple track as it is also a very popular trail for hikers and horses so be on the look out of what is coming around the corner. This is also in Grizzly country so be sure to take all precuations.
