The Northwest College Wind Band is made up of the finest wind and percussion performers on the Northwest College student campus. This ensemble performs standard wind band repertoire in concerts on campus and on tours for high schools in the area. The ensemble is open to students of any major with performing experience on a wind or percussion instrument. The Wind Band has the distinction as being one of the only community college bands in the region that is made up entirely of college-age students.
The Northwest College Concert Choir is open to students of all majors from across the campus.
The Guitar Ensemble open to any Northwest College student who can play the guitar and read music.
The Northwest Jazz Band is open to any Northwest College student by audition during the first week of classes of the fall semester.
The Northwest College Studio Singers is a jazz choir open to students of all majors from across the campus by audition during the first week of classes in the fall.
The Percussion Ensemble is open to any Northwest College percussion student.
The jazz combos at Northwest College are open to any student by audition during the first week of classes of the fall semester.
The Northwest Civic Orchestra continues to serve the Big Horn Basin of northwest Wyoming as a performance outlet for local musicians and a source of orchestral music in live performance.
The orchestra is comprised of musicians from across the Basin and from southern Montana as well as music students from Northwest College. They rehearse each Thursday evening and give 2-4 concerts each year. The orchestra is conducted by Maurine Akin.
Every other year the orchestra sponsors the Wyoming Young Artist Competition. Winners from three catagories receive cash prizes and the opportunity to perform with the orchestra.
