Administrative Medical Specialist

The Administrative Medical Specialist program will prepare you for a rewarding career in the healthcare industry.  In this one year program, you will gain a wide range of medical office skills that healthcare professionals need for a successful career in a medical office setting.

Required Courses:
• Administrative Medical Specialist
• Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist
• Medical Terminology

Upon completion of the program you will understand:
• Receptionist tasks, including patient registration, and appointment scheduling and telephone techniques
• Check-in and check-out procedures for patient visits
• Verification of insurance benefits and pre-authorization
• Medical records/patient chart creation and maintenance
• Understand medical terminology, including the origins of medical words
• Interpret terms related to diagnosis and clinical procedures


Upon completion of the program, you will be prepared to take the following National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exams:
• Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)
• Electronic Health Record Specialist Certification (CEHRS)



Cost:  $2,495.00
