Proposal to change the name of Northwest College

Overview

At the September 9, 2024, Northwest College Board of Trustees meeting, trustees from the ad hoc Board Committee on Change of Name submitted a resolution intended to open an official Board discussion regarding a change to the name of Northwest College. The proposed new name: Yellowstone College.

Timeline

• September 9, 2024: resolution introduced as New Business;
• September 11, 2024: feedback window opens (see details below);
• October 14, 2024: Board of Trustees Meeting:
  • Board discussion will continue;
  • Citizens will be welcome to address the Board at the Citizen's Open Forum at 5 p.m.
• November 11, 2024: Board of Trustees Meeting:
  • Board discussion will continue;
  • Citizens will be welcome to address the Board at the Citizen's Open Forum at 5 p.m.
  • Board action on the resolution is expected, but not guaranteed.
