The Native Ways student club at Northwest College will be hosting its 27th Annual Buffalo Feast on Thursday, November 30 at 6:00 p.m. in the Yellowstone Conference Center. The feast includes bison, roasted red potatoes, seasonal roasted vegetables, roasted beet salad with goat cheese mousse, Three Sisters soup, bannock bread and berry soup.

This year’s speaker is Jason Baldes, a member of the Eastern Shoshone tribe, and Tribal Buffalo Program Manager for the National Wildlife Federation’s Tribal Partnerships Program. He sits on the board of directors for the Inter-Tribal Buffalo Council and serves as executive director of the Wind River Tribal Buffalo Initiative, overseeing the tribes’ growing buffalo herd.

Jason's passion is tribal bison restoration and he has worked tirelessly to restore conservation buffalo to tribes across North America. He is featured in the new Ken Burns documentary The American Buffalo in the companion segment “Homecoming” that aired in October 2023. You can stream the video at: pbs.org/video/the-american-buffalo-special-homecoming/.

Tickets are $25 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under, and $10 for NWC students. Those who wish to attend the event are encouraged to reserve tickets no later than November 24. Tickets may be purchased online at nwcollegefoundation.org/buffalo-feast, or by sending a check or cash to the Northwest College Foundation at 231 W. 6th St. Powell, WY 82435, or by stopping by Orendorff Building, Room 144.

The Native Ways Club is pleased to announce that a portion of this year's event proceeds will be allocated to the Native Ways Scholarship Fund.
