Folktales have been used in many African and African American communities to educate, entertain, instruct and pass on history from one generation to the next. This shows the power of words and how storytelling has influenced the lives of Black people. There will be a webcast performance of African American folktale by Opalanga Pugh and a live performance of some Ugandan/African tales by Dr. Florence Ebila, a visiting Fulbright scholar.
