Budding scientists throughout the Big Horn Basin will be competing in the Northern Junior Regional Science Fair at Northwest College Jan. 26.

Beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Yellowstone Building, middle school students, grades sixth through eighth, will present a variety of projects for the judges to evaluate. Those who earn first, second and third place awards will qualify for the Wyoming State Science Fair in Laramie, Wyoming, March 4-6.

Judging takes place from 9:30-11:30 a.m. in Yellowstone Building Conference Center. During this time, visitors are welcome to view the projects and talk with middle school presenters.

The Northwest College Biology and Chemistry Departments will offer demonstrations and hands-on activities for students from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

The event concludes with an awards ceremony from 1:30-2 p.m.
