Proposal to change the name of Northwest College

Overview

At the September 9, 2024, Northwest College Board of Trustees meeting, trustees from the ad hoc Board Committee on Change of Name submitted a resolution intended to open an official Board discussion regarding a change to the name of Northwest College. The proposed new name: Yellowstone College.

Timeline

• September 9, 2024: resolution introduced as New Business;
• September 11, 2024: feedback window opened;
• October 14, 2024: Board of Trustees Meeting (discussion);
• November 11, 2024: Board of Trustees Meeting (vote to table the resolution passed);

Feedback

The Feedback Survey is now closed. Board members voted to table the 9/9/24 Board of Trustees Resolution to Change the Name of Northwest College at the November 11, 2024, meeting. The ad hoc Board Committee on Change of Name was tasked with further research to support the idea for future discussions.
