International Student & Scholar Services

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services provides support and services to the international community at Northwest College. We are dedicated to working with students, faculty, staff and community members and strive to create a campus that is welcoming, supportive, and engaged in cultural awareness and student success.

International Recruitment, Admissions & Enrollment

  • Advising on college admission requirements and review of academic qualifications
  • I-20 document issuing
  • Academic advising and support

International Student Advising and Counseling

  • Confidential advising for personal matters
  • Referrals and guidance for other college services

Immigration Assistance and International Student Support

  • Information on how to maintain visa status
  • Advising on applying for campus jobs, Curricular Practical Training (CPT) and Optional Practical Training (OPT), school transfers, permission to extend stay in U.S. and international travel
  • Advising on filing tax returns, obtaining a social security and applying for a driver's license

Social, Cultural, and International Programs

  • Social activities: Trips, presentations, gatherings, and festivals to bring together American and international students
  • Friendship Family Program: Provides international students the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with individuals and families in the local communities
  • Social events: Initiates cultural exchange and understanding through intercultural festivals, movies, discussions and friendship.
