Crime in the United States (FBI) & UCR Publications

FDLP Guide: World War II in Alaska

During World War II, Alaska was a territory. Its Aleutian Islands became a battlefield when Japanese forces invaded and occupied the islands of Attu and Kiska.  These attacks, a diversionary tactic of the Japanese during the Battle of the Midway, resulted in a 14 month air war and the relocation of  the Unangan (Aleut) people.

Fire Effects Information System (FEIS)
FEIS provides up-to-date information [literature reviews and summaries with complete bibliographies] about fire effects on plants, lichens, and animals. It was developed at the United States Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station, Fire Sciences Laboratory in Missoula, Montana.

Southern Mosaic: The John and Ruby Lomax 1939 Southern States Recording Trip

The collection documents the Lomaxes' three-month, 6,502-mile trip through the southern United States. The materials include 25 hours of folk music from more than 300 performers that feature ballads, blues, children's songs, cowboy songs, fiddle tunes, field hollers, lullabies, play-party songs, religious dramas, spirituals, and work songs.
