The ever-popular play that tells the story of a small-town man with big dreams comes to Powell, Wyoming, Dec. 7-9. Actresses and actors—of all ages ranging from elementary, middle school, high school, college and older adults—throughout the Big Horn Basin are invited to take part in the community theater presentation of “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
Auditions are scheduled in NWC’s Nelson Performing Arts Center Sept. 14,16, and 18, at 6:30 p.m. each evening. On Sept. 5 auditions will be held in Orendorff Building lobby.
“The play ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ is a classic family holiday show!” Fred Ebert, assistant professor and communication division chair, says. “With that in mind, we are looking to make the entire production a family experience with parents, children and siblings all involved with the show.”
Up to 25 actors and actresses are needed for the play, and there are also several opportunities for those interested in helping backstage with set construction, costuming and makeup. Individuals of all skill levels are encouraged to participate in the production.
“Everyone is welcome to get involved from acting to lighting, costumes, scenery and more!” Ebert adds.
Aspiring actors and actresses, along with those interested in backstage duties, as well as other community theater enthusiasts, are invited to drop in at any point during the auditions.
The production is co-directed by Ebert and Jon Andren, longtime participant in local community theater.
