The Wild West Players will hold auditions Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 23, 24 and 25, for six community theatre productions of the children’s play “Stone Soup” coming up this spring.
Auditions start at 6:30 p.m. each evening in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium in Powell.
Fred Ebert, director of the Wild West Players, said he’s looking for adult actors and backstage positions for the children’s production. This theatrical version of the “Stone Soup” provides a positive moral message as well as a sense of encouragement for young children.
“This will be a particularly fun production set to perform for nearly 2,500 elementary students from around the basin,” Ebert said. “This version of the story supports the idea that it’s important to tell the truth, and more importantly, that boys or girls can do anything they set their minds to – including slaying a dragon!”
For those who are interested, college credit can also be earned for acting and creating scenery, costumes, lighting and music.
