POWELL, Wyo. — About 200 of the best high school music students from the Big Horn Basin will be in Powell Friday and Saturday, Nov. 22 and 23, for the 2013 North Big Horn Basin District Music Clinic.
Choir and band students will spend both days working on music to present at a 2:30 p.m. concert Saturday in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium at Northwest College.
This year’s guest clinicians are both from Montana—Jeff Long, band director at Billings Senior High School, will conduct the band, and David Edmonds, director of choral activities at the University of Montana, will direct the choir.
Participating students from Big Horn, Hot Springs, Park and Washakie counties were selected by their music teachers.
Sponsored by the Northern Big Horn Basin Music Educators Association, the clinic is conducted by the Music Department at Northwest College. NWC music faculty Brad Howey and Jan Kliewer are organizing chairpersons.
Admission to the Saturday concert is free.
