POWELL, Wyo. — About 250 of the best high school music students from the Big Horn Basin will be in Powell Friday and Saturday, Nov. 18 and 19, for the 2011 North Big Horn Basin District Music Clinic.
Choir and band students will spend both days working on music to present at a 2:30 p.m. concert Saturday in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium at Northwest College.
This year's guest directors are Roy Dahlinger, choral director at Rawlins High School, who will conduct the choir, and Robert Belser, director of bands at the University of Wyoming, who’ll direct the band.
Participating students from Big Horn, Hot Springs, Park and Washakie counties were selected by their music teachers.
Sponsored by the Northern Big Horn Basin Music Educators Association, the clinic is conducted by the Music Department at Northwest College. NWC music faculty Neil Hansen and Jan Kliewer are organizing chairpersons.
Admission to the Saturday concert is free.
