POWELL, WYOMING – The Northwest College art department will host an exhibition of work by Montana artist Noah Massey from August 26 – October 16 in the Northwest Gallery located inside the Cabre Building. The exhibition will conclude with a reception on Friday, October 16 at noon.
Massey is a third-generation Bozeman native whose work is bound to the Montana landscape, not as scenery, but as inheritance. Working primarily in acrylic and oil, with printmaking, sculpture, and installation moving through her practice as needed, she builds paintings around the themes that interest her most: life, death, redemption, and recovery.
Massey holds a BA in Art History from Montana State University, a BFA in Studio Arts from the University of Montana, and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She lives in Bozeman where she is an active member of the local arts nonprofit community, including her role as Executive Director for S.L.A.M. (Support Local Artists and Musicians).
