Northwest College’s Johnson Fitness Center is temporarily relocating to the Fagerberg Building Annex, located at 724 North Beckman Street.
Throughout the week of spring break, March 3-11, exercise equipment will be moved to the temporary location, so remodeling can begin in the JFC. The series of renovations will take place throughout the remainder of the Spring 2018 semester, and will include asbestos removal, updated HVAC and electrical systems, as well as new flooring. The project is funded by major maintenance funds Northwest College receives annually from the state.
Patrons will have access to lockers and bathrooms; however, there are no showers available in the new temporary location. Personal belongings in current JFC lockers must be cleared out by March 2 in preparation for the one-week closure.
The JFC’s anticipated reopening date in the Fagerberg Building Annex is scheduled for March 12. The full remodel is expected to be complete before Fall 2018 semester courses begin Aug. 22.
Students who are available to help move exercise equipment March 3-11 and interested in earning extra money are encouraged to contact Haley Sorenson, NWC fitness center coordinator, at haley.sorenson@nwc.edu.
Northwest College staff who currently work in the adjoining Moyer Building will also temporarily be housed in the Fagerberg Building Annex.
JFC memberships are available in the NWC Business Office in the Orendorff Building at the corner of Sixth and Cheyenne Streets.
