POWELL, Wyoming — Big Horn Basin residents can learn the Fundamentals of Day Trading Stocks in a five-week class offered in November through the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development.
The class meets from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30.
Instructor and veteran day trader Sean Dimsey said the course provides more than just an introduction to stock day trading.
“Students will review many facets of day trading,” Dimsey said, “including available day trading platforms, algorithm-based tools and recognition of patterns and biased opinions. We’ll also look at best practices in controlling the eventual emotional turmoil as a result of a good trade and/or a bad trade and from what sources you should collect the data that will become the basis for your trading outlook on the basis of overall market conditions or specific to a particular company.”
He cautions the course does not provide specific investment advice and neither he nor Northwest College are liable for losses or gains as a result of day trading based on the information provided in the course.
Dimsey has a long track record in the world of finance. Over the last 15 years, he’s been a chief operating officer, twice a chief executive officer, as well as a founder of a franchise investment firm. He’s a veteran and holds an MBA in analytical finance. In addition, he is a small business investor with investments in companies across the country. He’s been a day trader for nearly 15 years.
Cost for the course is $145.
