POWELL, Wyoming — The Northwest College Foundation invites Big Horn Basin residents to be part of something that counts by giving $5 or $10 on #GivingTuesday.

“We have a day for giving thanks. We have two days for getting deals. Now, there’s a day to give,” Andrea Shipley, NWC development coordinator, said. “If each of us give $5 or $10 in honor of #GivingTuesday it will add up and make a huge impact in the lives of students at NWC.”

The NWC Foundation will join over 10,000 organizations across the country in creating a national movement around the holidays that’s dedicated to giving. Foundation staff and NWC students will use telephone calls, email messages, text to give and social media to encourage giving. The campaign culminates Tuesday, Dec. 1, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

“So many of us have benefitted from Northwest College in some way, but not everyone believes they have a significant way to give back,” Shipley said. “We want to promote a day that everyone can afford to participate in. You don’t have to be a billionaire to participate. All it takes is a little bit of money and a whole lot of love for NWC.”
