P O W E L L, W y o. - The do's and don'ts of merchandising and marketing get an interactive, hands-on treatment during "M&M's for your Business Image," starting at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, in the Center for Technology and Innovation on the Northwest College West Campus in Powell.

The three-hour seminar focuses on how to present to the public a perfect image for your business. It's designed for business owners, employees and anyone else who would like to learn more about increasing sales on a shoestring budget. Instead of simply receiving information, participants will be asked to roll up their sleeves and work on developing merchandising and marketing solutions.

The M&M's are taught by Dennis Decker of Powell, formerly an employee of Triad Systems who was trained in the IBM business model in San Francisco, Calif., and went on to win many international awards with Triad. Decker brought his family and what he learned from Triad to Powell in 1996 and established Arrowhead RV Sales and Service. After five successful years, he sold his business and has been semi-retired since. He's been involved in the establishment of six businesses and currently runs a small business he developed for his children, teaching them the basics of business and earning power before sending them off to college.

"M&M's for Your Business" is sponsored through a partnership between the Northwest College Center for Training and Development (formerly called Workforce Development), Wyoming Small Business Development Center, U.S. Small Business Administration and the Wyoming Business Council. Registration is $25 per person and includes snacks.
