Three Northwest College students won NWC Board of Trustee Purchase awards at the April 18 opening reception for the 2017 Juried Student Art & Design Exhibit at Northwest Gallery in Powell.
Cydney Barrus of Powell earned a purchase award for her work “Separated,” a still life graphite drawing of a rose and a broken ceramic figurine.
A stoneware piece titled “Speckled Jug” earned Meeteetse’s Caitlynn Hiser an award in the three-dimensional category.
Anthony Adkins of Powell also claimed a purchase award for his work “Class A’s,” a lifelike wire sculpture of a shoe.
The Juried Student Art & Design show, including the award-winning images, can be viewed through Saturday, May 6, in Northwest Gallery. Located in the Cabre Building on the Northwest College campus, the gallery is open from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. weekdays and Thursday evenings from 7-9 p.m.
Admission is free.
