NWC Flute Studio students and Flute Ensemble perform Tuesday, May 7

POWELL, Wyo. - The spring semester at Northwest College draws to a close with a flute recital Tuesday, May 7.

The Northwest College Flute Studio and Flute Ensemble will perform in a 7:30 p.m. concert in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium.

Under the tutelage of adjunct instructor Austin Frescoln, Flute Studio students Richelle Tewes of Buffalo, Heather Dolan of Cody and Becky Voss of Powell will open the concert with solo performances from works by C. Chaminade, Marin Marais and Gabriel Faure.

Flute Ensemble students Tewes, Dolan, Voss and Beth Hutchins of Mesa, Ariz., close the recital with “The Liberty Bell” by Sousa, “Bourree” by Handel, “Melancholia” by Scarlatti and “Scherzo Billiante” by Severn.

Frescoln plays principle flute for the Northwest Civic Orchestra and received her music degree from Montana State University in Bozeman, Mont., with a focus in voice and flute.

Admission is free.
